Most Invisalign treatments range from 6 months to 24 months treatment time but individual cases vary greatly depending on the difficulty of treatment and also on the cooperation of the patient.
We’ve found that patients who achieve the best results tend to wear their aligners 20-22 hours a day, every single day. It’s important to stay on top of your treatment plan. Even if you are traveling, you can carry the aligners anywhere and continue with the treatment plan. Any lapse in treatment can prolong the process considerably.
One of the added benefits of Invisalign is that you don’t have to visit your orthodontist as many times as you would with metal braces. There aren’t as many adjustments or follow-ups that need to happen. You’ll end up seeing your dentist at I Song Orthodontics around once a month (every 4-6 weeks to be exact).
Contrary to popular belief, Invisalign is quite comparable in cost to metal braces. Your orthodontist will go over the cost for your particular treatment, but usually, Invisalign ends up costing anywhere from $2,500 – $8,000 depending on the scope and ambition of your treatment.
You’ll have an amazing smile to enjoy! But, when it comes to life after treatment, we recommend that you continue to wear a retainer after any completed orthodontic treatment. This will be true for any treatment, whether it’s traditional metal braces, ceramic braces, or Invisalign. It’s a good choice to wear a custom-fitted retainer that will stop your teeth from shifting back to their original placement.
